Kew Green – Large Garden
This garden was designed to accommodate a new Alitex greenhouse. The garden had been used by a young family who are now full-grown, and their parents wanted the garden to work better for entertaining and growing the things they liked.
After clearing a neglected corner of the garden, a new raised terrace was built to provide a dining area alongside the greenhouse. The old, wobbly, brick path was removed, and sympathetic, reclaimed York stone was installed to lead to a compact tool shed. Flowerbeds were created amongst new bound gravel paths and a beautiful metal archway now leads to a pond and the raised terrace.

The planting incorporated existing established trees and shrubs, and a line of pleached beech trees was planted. This has grown well and now provides an excellent screen hiding the apartments located behind the rear wall. A productive vegetable plot was also incorporated with a relaxing swing installed nearby.
The clients are delighted with their new garden and are now growing prize-winning lemons in their greenhouse.
